The Hertz Corporation VP Maintenance, Accident and Fuel Products in Bannockburn, Illinois

General Responsibilities

Donlen’s Vice President of Maintenance, Fuel, and Accident products is responsible for delivering on the strategic vision of these key strategic products. These products account for in excess of $35 million in annual revenue and over $1 billion of indirect spend through Donlen vendors in connection with its fleet management services. These products consist of Accident Management, Subrogation, Fuel Management, Maintenance Consultation, Recall iNSIGHTS, Downtime Management, Rental, Glass, Roadside Assistance, and E-Coupon Products

  • Responsible for all features, benefits and values associated with the products above

  • Accountable to gather all competitive intelligence, customer feedback and vendor performance metrics

  • Define the Long-Range product plan considering emerging trends, vehicle improvements (Connected/Autonomous/Shared/Electric), and technology advancements

  • Manage the Standard Operational Procedures (SOP) and pricing targets for all products.

  • Works with Legal and Risk to ensure that all vendor relationships and contracts comply with Donlen/Hertz policy

  • Responsible for all indirect revenue across the annual $1 billion in Donlen Vendor spend. Works to improve margins by partnering with procurement specialists to negotiate aggregate volume threshold sharing plans with key vendors

  • Drives Customer/Driver usage strategies to maximize volume at Donlen network vendors and partners

  • Authors and delivers 3 year strategic product roadmaps for each product listed above, Responsible for the execution of all projects on roadmap

  • Owns the value proposition for these products, identifying the estimated value of the features and benefits our products offer customers

  • Communicate product value throughout all areas of the company, and develop value scoring reporting to prove out the value being provided to Donlen customers

  • Provides customer experience support for all products under responsibility

  • Lead strategist for the technical development team defining product release requirements, oversees the agile development of the product/process Short Range Plan roadmap.

  • Collaborates with Sales and Marketing to define the go-to-market strategy, develop the product support materials required, provide ideal market segments, customer targeting, product positioning, feature-benefit-value chain, and ensure technical sales support when needed

  • Create training materials, for product support personnel, customer experience account managers, VPBD’s, and Account Executives

  • Collaborates with maintenance contact center leadership to jointly define and manage product productivity and tactical enhancements to the products

  • Collaborate with Learning and Development on Donlen University courses and materials

  • Align with the technology POD on vision for driver and fleet manager experiences with the responsible products

  • Travel to customer and prospect sites, as needed

  • Other duties as assigned


Mandatory Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related area

  • 8 to 10 years of Product Management or relevant business experience

  • 5 or more years industry experience

Preferred Requirements

  • Ability to execute in a matrixed environment

  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills

  • Advanced computer skills (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and influence executive leadership

  • Data Driven; Process Orientation

  • Strategic, innovative thinker with a bias for execution

  • Lead Accident operations, Fuel management operations, and Maintenance program manager
